Emergency First Aid 1 Day
This is an HAS approved course and is delivered in class by an HSE approved centre instructor. On completion of the course a certificate will be issued and is valid for 3 years and to renew your certificate you will need to attend another EFAW course. The course meets the requirements of First Aid at Work (First Aid) regulations.

- Fears of first aid
- Barriers
- Initial assessment
- Unconscious Breathing and Recovery Position
- The heart, sudden cardiac arrest heart attacks and CPR
- One rescuer CPR
- Chest only compressions
- CPR handover to second rescuer
- Adult choking, conscious and unconscious
- Serious bleeding management and wounds
- Shock
- Spinal injury management
- Burns and scalds
- Anaphylactic shock and allergies
- Seizures and epilepsy
Emergency First Aid 3 Days
“An employer shall provide, or ensure that there is provided, such number of persons as is adequate and appropriate in the circumstances for rendering first-aid to his/her employees if they are injured or become ill at work; and for this purpose a person shall not be suitable unless he/she has undergone –
(a) Such training and has such qualifications as the Health and Safety Executive may approve”

This is an HSE Approved course to comply with the First Aid at Work Regulations for a First Aider in the workplace. The course covers primary and secondary care and includes a mix of theoretical and practical tasks.
This course is delivered by an approved HSE Instructor and is conducted over a 3 day period with a minimum of 18 contact hours. You will be assessed on the completion of your course by an assessor who is not the Instructor.
A certificate will be issues on successful completion of the course and this will remain valid for 3 years. To keep the certificate up to date holders must attend a 2 day re-qualification before the expiry date.
